China's Huawei, ZTE Blast House's Security Warnings

Law360, New York (October 09, 2012, 5:14 PM ET) -- China and its top two telecommunications manufacturers fired back Tuesday at a U.S. congressional report that labeled the companies a security threat, blasting the findings as speculative and unsupported by evidence.

Released Monday by the House Intelligence Committee after an 11-month investigation, the report urged American businesses to avoid Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. and asked for regulators to block any U.S. mergers and acquisitions, citing concerns over close ties with the Chinese government.
