Chinese Solar Panel Duties Will Hurt Energy Trade, China Says

Law360, New York (October 12, 2012, 6:57 PM ET) -- Anti-dumping and countervailing duties approved Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Commerce on China-imported solar panels will create “trade friction” in the international energy industry, a Chinese commerce ministry official said Friday.

The anti-dumping duty rates, which vary from a little over 18 percent to as much as nearly 250 percent, and the anti-subsidy duty rates, which range up to nearly 16 percent, the duties will be unfair to China's solar cell exports, according to a statement Friday by spokesman Shen Danyang of the Chinese Ministry...
