Law360, New York (December 23, 2003, 12:00 AM ET) -- India’s government on Monday introduced its Patents (Amendment) Bill 2003, aimed to bring the country into compliance with its international obligations regarding intellectual property rights by 2005.
The bill was not scheduled for Monday. Nonetheless, Union Minister of Law and Justice and Commerce and Industry Arun Jaitley introduced it in the Lok Sabha chamber on the penultimate day of the parliament’s winter session, according to Indian news reports.
