Law360, New York (June 24, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge has denied Toray International Inc.'s bid for sanctions against Renner Otto Boisselle & Sklar LLP attorneys representing Avery Dennison Corp. in its infringement suit over radio frequency identification patents, ruling that the lawyers shouldn't bear all the blame for months of delays.
Judge Kathleen M. O'Malley of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Tuesday rejected Toray's argument that the Renner attorneys knowingly filed the suit without a plausible basis for asserting personal jurisdiction.
