Netgear Doesn't Infringe Wi-Fi Patents: Judge

Law360, New York (September 23, 2009, 2:47 PM ET) -- Netgear Inc. has triumphed over Fujitsu Ltd., LG Electronics and U.S. Philips Corp. in a test case that claimed hundreds of Netgear’s wireless products infringe three patents covering Wi-Fi transmission technology.

Judge Barbara B. Crabb of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin determined Friday that Netgear does not infringe the three patents related to the 802.11 standard for wireless communications, deeming the plaintiffs’ accusations overbroad and unspecific.
