HP Lodges ITC, US Court Suits Over Cartridge Patents

Law360, New York (September 24, 2009, 5:02 PM ET) -- Hewlett Packard Co. has launched a two-pronged attack against several Chinese ink cartridge makers and U.S.-based importers it claims infringed four of its patents, filing simultaneous complaints against the entities with the U.S. International Trade Commission and in federal court.

The computer giant filed the complaints Wednesday in the ITC and U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, accusing the named respondents of violating the patents by manufacturing infringing products abroad and then importing them for sale into the U.S.
