Saxon, RIM Resolve ITC Wireless Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (September 30, 2009, 5:17 PM ET) -- Saxon Innovations LLC has reached a settlement with Research In Motion Ltd. in the patent suit it brought before the U.S. International Trade Commission over wireless communication devices.

Saxon and RIM filed a joint notice of settlement with the ITC Sept. 25, though Saxon’s claims against Palm Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. remain.

The settlement evaporates the complaint’s potential to bar RIM from importing its popular BlackBerry wireless devices into the U.S., though the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
