Law360, New York (April 15, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission is expected to ban imports of display controllers manufactured by Mstar Semiconductor after determining that the Taiwanese chip maker infringes a patent held by rival Genesis Microchip.
Such a ban will likely also cover monitors and boards containing the infringing products, Genesis said in a statement Thursday.
The patent in question is U.S. Patent No. 5,739,867 entitled "Method and Apparatus for Upscaling an Image in Both Horizontal and Vertical Directions,” Genesis said.
