Nokia Accuses IPhone Of Infringing Its Patents

Law360, New York (October 22, 2009, 3:36 PM ET) -- Cell phone maker Nokia Corp. lodged a complaint Thursday that accuses Apple Inc.'s iPhone of infringing 10 patents that cover wireless data, speech coding, and security and encryption.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, declared that each of the patents was essential to the Global System for Mobile Communications Standard, the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Standard or the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Standard, and that Apple was using the patents to make its iPhone work on those...
