Athena Hits Ambry With 4 Genetic Testing Patent Suits

Law360, New York (November 19, 2009, 2:10 PM ET) -- Athena Diagnostics Inc., the sublicensee of patents related to genetic tests for the detection and diagnosis of certain forms of diabetes, has accused rival laboratory Ambry Genetics Corp. of infringing four of those patents in its testing.

In four separate suits filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Athena claims that Ambry performs endocrine and metabolism molecular disease tests at its facility that infringe patents obtained from three research and academic institutions through an arrangement with Correlagen Diagnostics Inc.
