Voting Machine Cos. Hit With Patent Infringement Suit

Law360, New York (December 07, 2009, 2:31 PM ET) -- A Missouri-based patent-holding company has accused Election Systems & Software Inc., Hart InterCivic Inc., Premier Election Solutions Inc. and Sequoia Voting Systems Inc. of infringing three patents related to electronic voting machine technology.

Franklin Inventions LLC claims that the four companies have manufactured, sold, leased, imported and exported certain touch-screen and button-controlled electronic voting systems and equipment that infringe one or more claims of its asserted patents, according to a complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
