MGA, Retailers Barred From Marketing Laser Game

Law360, New York (January 14, 2010, 4:19 PM ET) -- A federal judge has barred MGA Entertainment Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Toys R Us Inc. from making or selling a chess-like board game involving laser beams that was found to infringe a patent held by Innovention Toys LLC.

Judge Martin L.C. Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Wednesday granted Innovention’s motion for a permanent injunction after the company showed that it was irreparably injured and that monetary damages would be insufficient.
