Law360, New York (January 20, 2010, 3:26 PM ET) -- Toshiba Corp. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to conduct a patent probe into Wistron Corp.'s notebook computers, seeking to block certain of its Taiwanese rival's imports into the United States.
Toshiba's ITC filing, submitted Tuesday, names Hsinchu, Taiwan-based Wistron and two of its Texas-based subsidiaries as respondents.
Toshiba, the world's fifth-largest personal computer manufacturer, told the Dow Jones news service in Tokyo on Wednesday it also will name Wistron in a California patent infringement suit, the details of which were not available.
