Law360, New York (February 04, 2010, 4:24 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has opened an investigation into whether certain Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. liquid crystal display modules violate Sharp Corp.'s patents, parallel to an investigation begun in January into whether Sharp violated Samsung patents for the same technology.
The ITC on Tuesday announced it had voted to institute the investigation of certain liquid crystal display modules and products containing the same, used in products like LCD televisions.
Samsung Electronics America Inc. and Samsung Semiconductor Inc. were also named as respondents.
