Pfizer Drops Suit Against Lilly Over Viagra Patent

Law360, New York (March 18, 2010, 4:10 PM ET) -- Pfizer Inc., which recently suffered a blow in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's re-examination of a patent for Viagra, has moved to drop an infringement case against Eli Lilly & Co. Inc. over a rival erectile dysfunction drug.

The pharmaceutical giants filed a joint stipulation Monday asking the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware to dismiss Pfizer's infringement claims with prejudice and strike Lilly's affirmative defenses.
