Ex-DuPont Worker Gets 18 Mos. In Trade Secret Case

Law360, New York (March 18, 2010, 5:54 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Thursday sentenced a former DuPont Co. employee to 18 months behind bars after he pled guilty to stealing trade secrets about the company's Kevlar products and feeding the information to DuPont rival Kolon Industries.

Judge James R. Spencer of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia sentenced Michael Mitchell to two concurrent sentences of 18 months for theft of trade secrets and obstruction of justice. The judge also ordered Mitchell to pay DuPont about $188,000 in restitution.
