Microsoft To Intervene In TiVo, AT&T Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (April 01, 2010, 2:26 PM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. has convinced a federal judge to let it become a defendant in TiVo Inc.'s patent infringement dispute against AT&T Inc. over digital video recording technology.

Judge David Folsom of the the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Wednesday granted the technology giant's motion to intervene as a defendant because AT&T's allegedly infringing U-Verse system uses Microsoft's Mediaroom software.
