Supreme Court To Hear Costco-Omega 1st-Sale Case

Law360, New York (April 19, 2010, 3:39 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to consider whether Costco Wholesale Corp. can sell Omega SA watches it legally bought outside the U.S. — a case that may answer the question of whether the so-called first-sale doctrine in copyright law applies to foreign works.

The court granted Costco's petition for certiorari in an order list released Monday. Attorneys for Costco and Omega could not immediately be reached for comment.
