Telus To Sell Ownership Rights To Wi-LAN Patents

Law360, New York (April 21, 2010, 5:18 PM ET) -- Canadian patent-licensing company Wi-LAN Inc. has signed a final agreement to resolve Telus Corp.'s suit claiming ownership interest in several of Wi-LAN's wireless technology patents, including some patents that Wi-LAN has asserted in multiple infringement actions.

Wi-LAN announced Wednesday that Burnaby, British Columbia-based Telus had agreed to sell any rights it may have had in the disputed patents to Wi-LAN in exchange for a one-time payment, ending the dispute in the Court of Queen’s Bench in Calgary, Alberta.
