Law360, New York (June 23, 2010, 2:36 PM ET) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has affirmed the validity of two VirnetX Holding Corp. network security patents that Microsoft Corp. licensed for $200 million in May to resolve an infringement suit by VirnetX.
VirnetX said in a statement Tuesday that the USPTO ruled June 16 that all claims of the two patents are valid. The company said Microsoft had requested a re-examination of the patents in January, before the case went to trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas....
