ITC Launches Graphics Patent Probe Against Apple

Law360, New York (June 25, 2010, 5:38 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has voted to launch an investigation into whether Apple Inc.'s iPhone, iPad and other products infringe four S3 Graphics Co. patents covering image processing technology.

The investigation, announced Friday, is in response to a complaint filed May 28 by S3. As usual, the ITC will set a target date for the investigation within 45 days.

Apple could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday.
