Law360, New York (July 06, 2010, 1:23 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into allegations by U.S. casket manufacturer Batesville Services Inc. that a Mexican company has imported caskets into Puerto Rico that infringe five patents.
The ITC on Friday announced the investigation into Ataudes Aguilares SRL, which Batesville claims has violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing caskets that include a designated compartment for storing mementos and a mechanism for installing ornamental corner pieces.
