Invacare Hits Rival With 337 Suit Over Medical Beds

Law360, New York (August 06, 2010, 2:02 PM ET) -- Medical equipment manufacturer Invacare Corp. has brought rival Medical Depot Inc. and a China-based exporter before the U.S. International Trade Commission, alleging the companies have infringed four patents related to adjustable-height medical beds.

Invacare filed a complaint Thursday in the ITC, accusing Medical Depot, which operates as Drive Medical Design and Manufacturing, and Shanghai Shunlong Physical Therapy Equipment Co. Ltd. of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 with imports of the beds and their parts.
