HP Settles Trade Secrets Suit With Ex-CEO

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 6:26 PM ET) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. ex-CEO Mark Hurd has reached a settlement with his former employer in a trade secrets and breach of contract suit that sought to block Hurd from joining rival technology giant Oracle Corp. as co-president.

HP and Oracle announced the deal in a joint statement on Monday, bringing to a close the suit HP launched against Hurd on Sept. 7 in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of Santa Clara, shortly after he left the company amid an ethics investigation.
