Law360, New York (October 29, 2003, 12:00 AM ET) -- The United States Copyright Office issued a ruling in Static Control Components' legal battle against Lexmark International, which SCC claimed validates its stance.
Lexmark sued SCC in December 2002, alleging that its so-called smart chip violates copyright laws because the chip allows companies to remanufacture toner cartridges to work in Lexmark printers.
