Wal-Mart, CVS, Others Sued Over Greeting Card Patent

Law360, New York (October 04, 2010, 1:44 PM ET) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Walgreen Co., Shutterfly Inc. and others are facing new allegations that they have willfully infringed a patent covering a method for printing greeting cards.

Acacia Research Corp.'s Express Card Systems LLC subsidiary lodged a complaint against the retailers and photo-printing companies Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The defendants also include CVS Caremark Corp. and CardsDirect LLC.
