Facebook Hits Back At Lamebook In Trademark Spat

Law360, New York (November 17, 2010, 7:22 PM ET) -- Facebook Inc. has launched a trademark suit against self-described parody website Lamebook LLC, arguing it is actually a social networking site raking in significant advertising revenues on the back of the Internet giant's brand strength and goodwill.

In a complaint filed Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Facebook claimed that Lamebook's logo design was a knockoff of Facebook's trademarks and that the website provided competing services that diluted the strength of Facebook's brand.
