Law360, New York (March 03, 2011, 2:56 PM ET) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday defeated an effort to strip language from patent reform legislation that would transition the U.S. to a first-to-file patent system, as Senate leaders teed up a vote to end debate on the entire bill for Monday.
Late Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., scheduled a vote for Monday afternoon on cloture for S. 23, the America Invents Act, which was debated on the Senate floor this week.
