Ohio Willow Dodges Sanctions In Prosthetics IP War

Law360, New York (April 04, 2011, 1:18 PM ET) -- An Ohio federal judge on Thursday refused to impose sanctions against The Ohio Willow Wood Co. for years of patent litigation that rival prosthetics maker Alps South LLC says is anti-competitive and abusive.

Judge Edmund A. Sargus Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio held that Alps’ bid for sanctions is too bound up with the allegations in the defendant’s countersuit to be resolved at this time, leaving Alps to pay its own way in both Ohio Willow’s infringement action and...
