Best Buy, CDW, Others Hit With Expansion Card IP Suit

Law360, New York (May 17, 2011, 2:12 PM ET) -- Internet Machines LLC took aim at 21 defendants — including Best Buy Co. Inc., CDW Corp. and EMC Corp. — in a suit filed in Texas on Tuesday over patents related to high-speed computer expansion card connections.

Internet Machines' complaint asked the court for a judgment saying that the patents have been willfully or recklessly infringed, a permanent injunction barring infringement from continuing and enhanced damages.

The asserted patents cover "various apparatuses or methods comprising PCI Express Switches," according to Internet Machines.
