Law360, New York (June 07, 2011, 3:21 PM ET) -- Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz PC on Tuesday dodged a suit in Washington alleging the firm bungled a Canadian patent application that cost Antiballistic Security and Protection Inc. millions of dollars in business.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson determined the plaintiffs, including two executives at ASAP, lacked subject matter jurisdiction to bring their suit, which involved questions of state law and Canadian patent procedures but not U.S. patent law.
