Law360, New York (July 01, 2011, 5:01 PM ET) -- A Delaware federal judge on Friday ordered the retrial of a fight over refrigerator patents between LG Electronics USA Inc. and Whirlpool Corp., which resulted in a $1.8 million jury verdict for Whirlpool last year.
U.S. District Judge Gregory M. Sleet granted both companies motions for a new trial, finding that the jury's verdict on some issues goes against the weight of the evidence. He also granted Whirlpool's motion for judgment as a matter of law on some issues.
