Hulu Sued Over Streaming Video Patent

Law360, New York (August 17, 2011, 12:14 PM ET) -- Patent holding company Intertainer Inc. hit popular online video provider Hulu LLC with a lawsuit Monday in California federal court, alleging infringement of a patent covering technology related to streaming video over the Internet.

Intertainer accused Hulu of infringing on U.S. Patent Number 7,870,592, which involves a method of streaming video content that allows a user to briefly view outside content — such as an advertisement — yet return to the interrupted video at exactly the point the user stopped watching.
