Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 1:36 PM ET) -- A California judge on Tuesday granted Irell & Manella LLP's bid to compel arbitration on sex discrimination claims brought by a former entertainment partner alleging her compensation took a hit after she confronted renowned intellectual property litigator Morgan Chu about harassment.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Amy D. Hogue accepted the law firm's argument that its partnership agreement required Juliette Youngblood, former chair of Irell's entertainment transactions group, to pursue her claims through confidential arbitration, but severed some portions of the agreement as unconscionable.
