ITC To Probe Honeywell In Furuno GPS Patent Case

Law360, New York (October 28, 2011, 4:28 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Friday that it would investigate Furuno Electric Co. Ltd.'s claims that Honeywell International Inc. aircraft navigation products infringe four of its patents.

Japan-based Furuno's complaint, filed in September, came shortly after the ITC announced in July that it had begun investigating allegations by Honeywell that Furuno's navigation products infringe four patents.

According to Furuno, U.S.-based Honeywell and its U.K.-based Skyforce Avionics Ltd. unit sell GPS devices, avionics navigation systems, weather radar systems and navigational aids that infringe its patents. At...
