Law360, New York (November 15, 2011, 8:50 PM ET) -- Federal Trade Commission nominee Maureen Ohlhausen and FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz, who is up for reappointment, told a U.S. Senate committee Tuesday they would help protect consumer privacy amid rapid technological advances and scrutinize potentially anti-competitive pay-for-delay deals among pharmaceutical giants.
At a nominations hearing, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation grilled Leibowitz and Ohlhausen, a competition and consumer protection attorney at Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP, on a long list of issues confronting the FTC.
