Yahoo Exits Email Filtering Patent Battle

Law360, New York (December 07, 2011, 6:59 PM ET) -- Yahoo Inc. on Wednesday settled a patent dispute with InNova Patent Licensing LLC in Texas, ending its involvement in a suit accusing dozens of companies including Apple Inc. and Bank of America Corp. of using InNova's email filtering technology without permission.

U.S. District Judge David Folsom approved a joint motion to dismiss with prejudice, ending all claims and counterclaims between the companies and stipulating that each party would bear its own costs and attorneys' fees. Details of the settlement were not immediately available.
