Groupon Aims To Log Out Of Trademark Battle

Law360, New York (December 20, 2011, 2:39 PM ET) -- Groupon Inc. on Monday asked a California federal court to toss a trademark infringement suit brought by technology company Groupion over the allegedly conflicting trade names, saying the two names are significantly dissimilar and relate to very different products.

In a motion for summary judgment, Groupon contended that Groupion’s customer relations software was not related to Groupon’s deal of the day service, further adding that the company names did not even look or sound alike.
