Law360, New York (January 10, 2012, 1:24 PM ET) -- Kyocera Communications Inc. lodged a declaratory suit on Monday in California federal court, seeking a ruling that two patents owned by the Eastman Kodak Co. are invalid before a licensing contract between the two companies expired.
Kyocera is asking the court to rule that its cellphones and other products equipped with cameras did not infringe on Kodak’s patents covering camera technology, and asking for a determination that the two patents-in-suit are invalid.
