Spotify Ends Digital Music Distribution Patent Row

Law360, New York (January 20, 2012, 7:04 PM ET) -- Digital music provider Spotify Ltd. on Thursday settled a patent infringement suit brought by software producer PacketVideo Corp., ending a dispute that began soon after Swedish-based Spotify opened for business in the U.S.

A California federal judge dismissed the case after PacketVideo and Spotify notified the court that the two sides had agreed to resolve their dispute over a patent owned by PacketVideo relating to digital music distribution.
