2nd Circ. Won't Rehear Textbook Resale IP Suit

Law360, New York (February 06, 2012, 4:12 PM ET) -- The Second Circuit refused on Friday to reconsider its finding that two defendants infringed the copyrights of McGraw-Hill Cos. Inc. and other publishers by reselling Indian editions of their textbooks.

In a one-page order, the appeals court denied the petition for a rehearing by New York-based Dart Air Inc. and its India-based owner, Vinod Kumar, who were found liable by a New York federal court for infringing nearly 400 copyrighted works owned by McGraw-Hill, Pearson Education Inc., John Wiley & Sons Inc. and Cengage Learning Inc....
