USPTO Gene Test Fight Pits Patients Against Patents

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 5:06 PM ET) -- The two sides in the heated debate over patents for genetic diagnostic tests clashed Thursday at a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office hearing, with doctors and advocates claiming gene patents can hurt patients, and attorneys and biotechnology companies defending strong patent rights.
