CBS Sued Over Rights To James Patterson's 'Virgin'

Law360, New York (February 23, 2012, 3:00 PM ET) -- Film company Balagan Enterprises LLC on Tuesday hit CBS Corp. and others with a copyright suit claiming it owns the rights to the James Patterson novel “Virgin,” and accusing CBS of preventing it from making a movie based on the thriller.

Los Angeles-based Balagan brought the suit against CBS, Paramount Pictures Corp. and Wilshire Court Productions, alleging that while all three companies were divisions of Viacom Inc., Wilshire got the rights to “Virgin,” later republished as “Cradle and All.”
