USPTO Tells Examiners How To Apply Prometheus Ruling

Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 5:21 PM ET) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office told patent examiners Wednesday that the U.S. Supreme Court's Mayo v. Prometheus ruling requires them to reject applications directed to natural phenomena unless they include elements causing the claimed invention to amount to "significantly more" than a law of nature.
