Law360, New York (June 05, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- A measure in a Defense Authorization bill pending in U.S. Congress would ban defense contractors from seeking royalties on toys modeled after airplanes, helicopters and other types of military equipment.
In a voice vote just before Memorial Day, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the amendment to the 2006 Defense Authorization bill that would ban defense contractors from exacting royalties for toys based on military equipment funded by U.S. tax payers. The Senate has not yet acted on the proposal.
