Law360, Los Angeles (June 29, 2012, 4:59 PM ET) -- Getty Images Inc. has reached an agreement resolving claims that it improperly licensed photographs featuring pine tree-shaped car air fresheners that bear a substantial resemblance to those trademarked by Car-Freshener Corp. and Julius Samann Ltd., according to a judgment entered Thursday.
The Northern District of New York entered a civil judgment requiring Getty to pay Car-Freshener and Julius Samann $100,000 and cease licensing images depicting the companies’ products, after the plaintiffs agreed to drop their claims in exchange for the judgment.
