Medical Device Co. Medeia Accuses Rival Of Lifting Software

Law360, New York (August 01, 2012, 9:40 PM ET) -- Medeia Ltd. launched a suit in Texas state court Wednesday alleging that a U.S. competitor tricked the Bulgarian medical device maker into divulging proprietary software to develop its own line of hospital grade heart and nervous system monitors, breaking a licensing deal.

Medeia alleges that after it provided Florida-based LD Technology LLC with its software technology under an agreement to manufacture and sell the devices, LD unilaterally started marketing the product throughout the Houston area while refusing to pay a licensing fee.
