Law360, New York (July 11, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- U.S. industrial conglomerate Honeywell has quietly settled with several of the world’s top makers of LCD screens, months after launching a sweeping patent lawsuit that targeted almost the entire flat-screen industry.
On Monday, the company said it had granted a license authorizing Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. and Sanyo Epson Imaging Devices Corp. to use the patented Honeywell technology.
Other companies that have obtained licenses for the Honeywell technology include Sharp, LG Philips, NEC, Chi Mei Optoelectronics and Samsung.
