Microsoft Seeks Change Of Venue In Trade-Secrets Dispute With Google

Law360, New York (August 10, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Microsoft Corp. has filed a motion to change the venue of Google, Inc.’s countersuit in the technology giants’ trade-secrets dispute over Google’s hiring of former Microsoft executive Kai-Fu Lee.

Microsoft is seeking to move the proceedings in the countersuit from a California state court to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

In its filing, Microsoft argued that the dispute qualifies as a federal case in part because the two companies are based in different states.
