Law360, New York (December 20, 2012, 1:54 PM ET) -- A Texas federal jury handed patent-holding company Patent Harbor LLC a win in their fight with Funai Corp. on Monday, finding the company infringed protected DVD menu selection features technology.
The jury awarded Patent Harbor $608,373 for Funai's infringement of U.S. Patent Number 5,684,514 — entitled “apparatus and method for assembling content addressable video” — by making and selling three groups and five subgroups of DVD recorders with menu selection features and content-addressing features that infringed on one of the patent's claims.
